Goodreads asked P.J. Howell:

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

P.J. Howell That's an interesting question... I could probably come up with a few answers but the one mystery I've always wondered about involved an incident in the early morning hours quite a few years ago when I was home alone with my boys when they were little. My husband worked nights and when he arrived home, he told me a vehicle was parked alongside our driveway, close to the house but situated so that I wouldn't be able to see it. I had no clue anyone drove down the road, or that anyone may have approached the house, but the placement of the vehicle was suspicious. It became even more concerning after we contacted the police and they discovered a weapon inside the vehicle. The police weren't able to locate the individual and for a while I felt unsafe in my own home. We were also left worrying and wondering... Why drive down our road? Were they running from someone, possibly the police? Were they trying to hide? Were they planning to harm themselves, as the police thought was possible, or were their intentions something else completely? Something I didn't even want to think about. And the biggest question that kept me up the next few nights was...would they come back?
