P.J. Howell That's an interesting question... I could probably come up with a few answers but the one mystery I've always wondered about involved an incident in the early morning hours quite a few years ago when I was home alone with my boys when they were little. My husband worked nights and when he arrived home, he told me a vehicle was parked alongside our driveway, close to the house but situated so that I wouldn't be able to see it. I had no clue anyone drove down the road, or that anyone may have approached the house, but the placement of the vehicle was suspicious. It became even more concerning after we contacted the police and they discovered a weapon inside the vehicle. The police weren't able to locate the individual and for a while I felt unsafe in my own home. We were also left worrying and wondering... Why drive down our road? Were they running from someone, possibly the police? Were they trying to hide? Were they planning to harm themselves, as the police thought was possible, or were their intentions something else completely? Something I didn't even want to think about. And the biggest question that kept me up the next few nights was...would they come back?
P.J. Howell There are many I could choose from but here's a post where I share one of my favorite reasons for being a writer: creative freedom.

P.J. Howell The next volume in the Jorja Matthews' mystery series, as well as the completion of a young adult. Beyond that, I'm putting together a new series and working on a few short story ideas I hope to have out soon.
P.J. Howell Read, learn from others, attend a conference or two, find and befriend other like-minded authors, take the idea of being a writer seriously enough to treat it like a job or a business and above all else, WRITE! You can read, learn and talk only so much about writing, but only when you actually put words on the page will you convert from "aspiring writer" to "author" with a story you can share with others.
P.J. Howell In my view, "writer's block" is a mindset more than a disgruntled muse who doesn't want to come out and play; although when the blocks happen it can feel like that! I try to shift my mindset...figure out what's blocking me from my creativity and oftentimes I focus on a different form of creative expression to help open the flood gates. I enjoy scrapbooking, art journaling, cross stitch, and photography, or I might take time away to go for a walk in the park with my pup or a drive to visit water (river, lake, ocean) to clear my head.
P.J. Howell Alice in Wonderland is one of my all-time favorites and is a fictional world I would love to visit.
