Doreen Cocherell
Doreen Cocherell asked Alice Coldbreath:

Do you have someone in mind when you write a character?

Alice Coldbreath Hi Doreen, I do not have a specific person in mind when I create my characters. I tend to start with some characteristics and an idea of how they look and their motivations. Then I will write a few paragraphs to get a feel for them and their backstory sort of appears to me as I go along. Sometimes they change quite a bit from my initial ideas as they evolve. I do like looking at old portraits and tapestries showing daily life from medieval times etc and sometimes I'll see a person depicted and think 'Oh yes, Meldon would be bandy legged like that' or 'that style of hood would be the one Bryce would wear'. Hope that answers the question Doreen - it was an interesting one! ~ Alice
