I try to prevent writer’s block by drafting a quick outline. Before writing my outline, I create very short biographies for my main characters.
I try to write out my outline and character biographies as quickly as possible…non-stop. At this point, I am not looking for perfection.
After I do this, I am able to start writing. I have a better idea what to write and a better idea where my characters are going.
