My most recent book, You Are Graduating Soon: What's After High School?, began as a short, motivational email.
It was only supposed to be a quick, inspirational message to my smart, young nephew who was simply refusing to do his homework and get good grades.
As the draft of my email to my nephew grew longer and longer, I decided to make it a more permanent and longer-lasting message. It occurred to me that maybe my message could have a longer life as a book or booklet.
My original goal was simply to make sure if my nephew did not end up in college, he would some how stumble upon his Uncle Kevin's "book" later in life and eventually get back on track.
As I transformed my writings into an easy to read booklet, I realized that my desire to help one, young individual could actually help many other teens, young adults, and families facing similar educational challenges.
