So, Astrophage can absorb enormous amounts of energy. But when they are cut open, or eaten by Taumoeba, that energy just seems to... disappear? They can keep themselves at ~100 degrees for years, so shouldn't Astrophage releasing all their energy when cut open cause a massive, instant release of energy (light or heat)? Shouldn't Taumoeba eating everything in the fuel tanks have released so much it melted the ship?
