Y…moreI was seven when I first read it, and I don't feel like I missed out on any of the themes or anything, nor was I particularly disturbed or confused. Yes, it has heavy topics, but having grown up with the series I feel like it's important for children to read about heavy topics if they understand them. Complex story lines and ideas shouldn't exclude children, if the individual child is ready for it.(less)
