But I can say that a friend's autistic daughter reacted really badly after reading the later books secretly and started acting out in school. So it really is up to the child's emotional level. Maybe only a 15-year -old can REALLY understand what goes through these kids' brains? Since that is the age of Harry & company in the book. As a mother, I would say: DO NOT LET A DEPRESSED AND BULLIED CHILD READ THIS BOOK! It does not really give such a child any hope. Not till the end anyway and most could not get that far, if they recognise themselves in the book! It is just too dark! I am a grown up and felt very, very ill at ease.(less)
