I would recommend 13 and up for this book, as the movie adaptation is rated PG-13, so I feel like that is a good guideline. There is occasional mild language throughout, along with one brief sex scene, but it is not explicitly described. The book centers on the subject of suffering from a serious illness, which can get intense at times.
All in all though I definitely think it depends on the reader and what they are personally comfortable with in a book! (:

Overall i think anywhere from 11 to 18 yr old would enjoy it. The whole book is just cute snd innocent except for one minor sex scene near the end but even that scene isn't explicit
