Anyone else have a really hard time getting Into this book? I've read like 20% and just feel totally lost... I want the good book that everyone has bragged about. Does it all come together as I read or...? Should I just quit?

I found it got better when you were 50% through it. By that point you've learnt a lot about each character and want to know the end more than you did at the beginning. It's very cheesey though.

If its the type of books you like, then finish it, you will fall in love with the Brothers. If you don't like the whole warrior thing then you won't like the series. The first book is a little different from the rest, but they are all basically the same, alpha male falls for female...

It took me a little bit to get into it as well. I think I had to get to about 20-25%. I made myself get past that because a lot of my friends recommend them. Believe me, it DOES get better.

I've tried this series many times as well and I too found it hard to get into which is strange because it's my kind of book. I keep putting it down after getting a quarter of the way through which is a shame.

Some people find the male characters offputting because of their expletives, self-hatred, and aggressiveness. They improve with time and the influence of their females once they meet them. I couldn't stand Butch when he first appeared, but by the end of Dark Lover, when he handled a very stressful situation very well, he became tolerable. By book 2 he was a good guy, and in book 4 he got his own love story. All of the characters change, though Zsadist changes the most. Stick with it. It's worth it.

I gave this a second chance and now I'm into it. Thanks everyone.

I started the series from book one, this is my reprieve from reality. I truly enjoyed the series. I have read most of them. I do have my favorite. The series is an amazing read. You should read the entire book to get a better grasp of the characters, in my opinion.

I could not read it, tried....

I didn't like the series at all and stopped reading it. Life's too short and there are too many other books out there to plough through stuff you don't enjoy.

It does get extremely better if this is the genre for you. There is drama, romance and tragedy that will drag you along the emotion rollercoaster but that is only if you can get into it and it is the right book that will match who you are and what you are interested in.

i have read and then re read the whole series. IF you expect modern day "women who are equals" then maybe you wont like this series. i just loved the whole storyline

If you start from book 1 Dark Lover and go through the series in order you will be hooked fast. Book 1 had me totally enthralled in the first chapter which almost never happens for me. If you are starting in the middle no wonder you can't stand the book and are lost. So try the first book first in my opinion....btw I've read every book in the series so far and waiting for the next release!!

I was hooked from the beginning, you're not so maybe it's not the right fit?
Claudia Weaver
I find I have reading a rather eclectic library but once I started with the Brotherhood really enjoyed the characters. Didn't read them in order so going back now to start at the beginning and work up to the most current novel.
