Mark asked:

Is this a book from the original writer whose last Hamish book is from 2018, or from an continuation writer?

Michelle Ok. M.C. Beaton did die over 2 years ago but she worked closely with R.W. Green to continue her series. Apparently, he worked with her on her last few books (both Agatha Raisin and Hamish Macbeth) when she couldn't type for long periods of time anymore. They would discuss characters, plot lines, and murders. Not sure if he's going to keep writing her books after the books they released together are published.
For more information, Green has put forewords in this book (Death of a Green-Eyed Monster and in Down the Hatch) which discuss this process.
Lala G She did die a while ago but this book has been on hold for at least two years. I thought it was ready before she died but the publication of the last few books she wrote had been spaced out, so it’s only just become available.
Squirrel This is a hybrid, and its painfully obvious where the original author sketched the points and the other writer connected them, shy on the depth, fun, and drama the original author brought to the series.
Katie Hanson M.C. Beaton died in December 2019, so this must be a ghost writer.
