Not since Nancy Drew, have I enjoyed such an independent female character as, Flavia. And the fact that she is a girl that loves science is an extra bonus. Do you add your poetry/prose after your story is completed; or before?

After I finish one of your books I have a feeling very like a parent whose child has moved away -- and "empty nest" feeling. I love Flavia so dearly... she is tough, funny, compassionate and vulnerable. If I feel that close to her as a reader, I wonder how you must feel as her author... her father, so to speak. When you finish writing a novel do you feel that empty nest feeling?
