I would love to read the original From Blood and Ash series but I can't find the books anywhere (I've checked many book markets online). So is it necessary to read the original series or can I start with this one?

You can although start the original series on kindle or via an other e-book retailers. Also it is not necessary to have read the original series before starting this one, but since these are in the same world with a few common characters, you'll want to read the original series books too!(less)
