Well, the only hobby I engage in these days is computer gaming (at a pretty low level) and my oldest 3 kids are now adults.
I have, however, spent more than 40 days and nights in hospital with my youngest this year (8 of those last week and the week before) so it can be challenging.
It helps that I enjoy writing!

Could you please, please write another funny fantasy book, a la mode 'the red queen' trilogy? It is my favourite. It is so difficult to find elsewhere the tone you set in the book- a serious fantastical world seen through the eyes of a comical, witty character. The vice-versa is more commonly found. What inspired the departure from your usual style to one with so much humour? Hope you and your loved ones are safe

Were you aware that you were creating a modern masterpiece when you were writing the broken empire, or did it come as a surprise? Also thank you for creating a thoroughly gripping, lean epic with masterfully crafted characters. Fifty years from now, this trilogy will be sitting next to Tolkien in the racks! :)
