asked:
Would this book be appropriate to read aloud with a high-school kid for an English lesson? Are there graphic sexual scenes depicted that would be uncomfortable to read together?

I, as a former English teacher, would not feel comfortable reading this allowed to my high school students. Not because I am uncomfortable with the subject matter, but because there is sex and profanity, and I would feel as their teacher I shouldn't be reading that to them.
I understand Laura's point about students finding that stuff on their own, but I as the teacher, to cover myself, wouldn't want to be the one to put that as a lesson in my classroom.

There are no graphic scenes, just general descriptions of people having sex; nothing compared to what a high school student can easily find on the internet. Depends on your comfort level with the subject matter, as well as what the parents might say. If it were my own kid, I'd have no problem, but totally different for someone else's.
Alexis
Yes, there are several graphic sexual scenes
