When you write a story, do you already have a “picture” of the heroine in your head or do you let her develop as you go along?

Cool question, Jane! My heroine usually starts out a bit vague--hair color, eye color, size, personality--and she develops as I write. Then I find an actress to play her in my story, which helps bring her into focus.
