Who were your main influences/mentors/support system for starting to write a book and when did you start writing?

Glynnis Campbell Great question, Crystal! I was first inspired by reading Kathleen Woodiwiss. Before her books, I didn't realize historical romance existed. A high school friend convinced me we should try writing one. She lost interest, but I didn't. Still, it was 20 years before I actually considered publishing anything. I joined Romance Writers of America in 1998, where I found other writers like me, including a big sister mentor, Amy Fetzer, who helped me tweak my writing. It was there I met my best friend, Lauren Royal, and we were published in the same year, 2000!
