Good question, Lisa! I was pretty shy as a child, so I think I communicated my feelings a lot with writing, which came naturally to me. But it never occurred to me to write professionally until I was in my late 30s! I'd had stories tucked under the bed, so I dragged them out and made them work.

After reading the newsletter this month (August), the idea of the rooms, caverns etc carved into the cliff etc, it reminds me of the series Poldark by Winston Graham - which of course is set in the late 1700s/early 1800s - I love romance like yours and Graham’s - who was your biggest inspiration to write in this era, vice a modern era or say a Tudor era?
