What gave you the idea for the opening line? It literally sold me on it going to be a great read. Best opener I've read in years.

Everina Maxwell It came out of the Emperor's character, in fact. I didn't consciously plan it, I just had a very strong impression of what she sounded like. I always feel like I've had some undeserved writing luck when that kind of thing happens!
