Love the Pinch of Magic series, and the cover art is gorgeous! How much input do you, as the author, have in the design of your books? (maps, cover, title pages etc.)

Hi Jenny!
Sorry for the delay in replying, I only check in on GR every now and then. I was quite lucky with A Pinch of Magic. I was shown 4 pencil sketches for possible cover art and persuaded the publisher to go with the one with the tower on the front. They had wanted to go with the mermaid mirror, but I felt that would work better on the back. After that, I was shown colour art work as it progressed. Most of the time authors are shown a rough of some kind and then the finished artwork, but their input varies greatly depending on the publisher.
The designer in the art dept. usually comes up with how the books look inside, however I've had a free rein with the maps/chapter illustrations etc. as they are done by me to suit the book (my degree was in illustration). Glad you're enjoying the series!

My daughter and I are about to finish 13 Secrets and this is easily the best series we've read together. So fun and suspenseful, great character development, and just enough "creepy". The whole family knows about this book because she is always excitedly babbling about it to her dad and sisters. Can you recommend something for us to read next? Your own and/or other authors you like. DD is turning 9 this weekend.

You are one of my favorite writers !. I read your book - A Pinch Of Magic and it is honestly the best book I've ever read in my life. I am now planning to buy your next book in series and also excited to read the thirteen treasures after I finish this. Who is your favorite character in A Pinch Of Magic except the widdershin sisters ? Love you from your 11 year old fan !

Hi Michelle!
I just finished rereading the 13 treasures series and forgot how much I adored it!
My question is about Gredin Tanya. Do you think the relationship between the two of them has improved at the end of 13 Secrets with them having that talk in the epilogue, and Gredin being able to take a step back? Do you think that will allow him more freedom as well?
