Carol asked this question about The Maidens:
So I get that this is fiction and sometimes you have to suspend disbelief to enjoy it, but I found it so unrealistic that Mariana is a group therapist but somehow has free rein to be on campus, actually have a room there, and act as a detective in a murder investigation. How does that happen? Did someone ask her (besides her niece) to stay and help?
Rhinnan Bc this book was so full of plot holes and the characters—particularly Mariana—did completely nonsensical things in order to advance the bad plotting?
