Hi Charlaine. A friend and I are currently buddy reading The Harper Connelly series (we recently read the Midnight books) because we wanted to see where Manfed first appeared in your universe. We're reading book 2, Manfred just appeared and my friend and I are curious to know if you created his character knowing he would star in his own books later on or if after creating him you decided to write his story? Thanks!

When I created Manfred for the Harper books, I got really interested in him and his back story, so I decided to visit him again in the Midnight books. Thanks for letting me know you're enjoying the buddy reading.

Hi Charmaine ... First off I have to say I love Sookie's books I own them all in paperback format. 🥰 My question is probably an odd one but I have already written two stories in this genre and know there is a need to not empathize too much with the grim situations your characters are faced with. Have you ever had characters that made it challenging to not to feel guilty for what you put them through?
