If you were 17 again, what would you pick to look like and to be and why? Did you write the book because you wanted to be something else?

Great question. I don't think I would have chosen to change anything; I've always been pretty comfortable in my own skin. Though if I could choose right now, it'd probably be to look like I did at 17, lol. I wrote this book for the opposite reason...I don't think we should have to change who we are or what we look like to be happy. Diversity is a beautiful thing and accepting ourselves the way we are, imperfections and all, is what I hope readers will take away from the book.

Hey Ilima, I'm putting together a proposal for a dystopian panel at Comic-Con in SLC in September. Basically, if you agree to do it and the conference approves our panel we each get in free with a guest. It will be a great opportunity to spread the word about Remake. (Which I can't wait to read btw.) Would you be interested?
