What is the difference between the S.S, German soldiers and and Gestapo?

EmmaLee Daniels The SS is like the police, the gestapo is like the police that specialize in killing and reporting Jews, and the soldiers are those fighting in battles. Both the ss and the gestapo are more citizen based. I can’t quite remember all the differences but this is what I can remember from other ww2 books
Zeenat Sumra SS is the Schutzstaffel, kind of like a military guard unit. The Gestapo were the secret police.
