Did anyone feel that the twist or plot, in the story, is almost forced? Like the author was directing us reader to somewhere else until the end.. it was annoying somehow.

I still have no idea what the heck the point of killing the Maidens was... to frame the professor? But why? How did that get Mariana out of the picture again? And even if the random crimes did get her out of the picture, what was the point with Sebastian being dead? I agree that it was forced just to be a surprise and didn't link to anything else in the story well. Seemed random and pointless. (less)
