It took me 4 tries to finally finish it. I always stopped by page 30 because I felt the level of detail was too much, and it was at a time when I didn;t have the time or commitment to read an 800 page book. On my final try, I just decided to keep going and read quite a bit the first night (I believe 81 pages, and I read the prologue twice), 9 months later, I had read all books.

Once I made it to Chapter 6, I was hooked. Stick it out to page 100 and then make a decision.

Apparently you are the type of reader who likes to not read writing with detailing but you like this type of fantasy story. May I suggest that you read this in readable bites, like read one chapter at a time and stop unless that chapter intrigues to read another chapter. The whole series of books are tomes and this book is just the start of the story. Also if it helps watch the TV season on Amazon Prime to give you a basic story to build on in the book. Believe me they leave out a lot of information which details you need to understand using the book words The Pattern of the Wheel.

You might want to take a small break to read some other books in the middle, as long as you don't put down the book permanently.

The first book is very slow-paced and somewhat confusing the first time you read it. If it's your second time, you should be fine, but it may be a bit hard. Keep rereading it until you understand it, then continue and read the rest of the series.
