Abby Millsaps Honor everything: The good. The bad. The stress. The confusion. It all contributes to your ability to create. Don't underestimate the power of a daydream, and don't discredit the time you spend thinking about your characters. Writing isn't just about sitting down and typing out words. There's so much extra that goes into the creation of something wonderful.

Also, consume as much art as possible. Read books in your genre. Read books outside your genre. Listen to music. Go to concerts. See a play. Watch a documentary. There's so much inspiration in the world around us. Consuming art is the best way I know how to support my own creative rhythm.
