The idea for When You're Home came to me during an afternoon of procrastination. I was supposed to be working on a different project, and I just couldn't find my groove. Instead, I sat there daydreaming and letting my mind wander.
The character of Rhett came to me first. Classically handsome and hopelessly romantic, I saw him as altruistic, confident, and steady-- he's the Boy Next Door in all the best ways. I could literally *feel* the love he had for Tori. That's when I knew I had to tell this story. I wrote a 5,000+ word outline that afternoon, then started writing in earnest the next day.
