Goodreads asked R.E. Sohl:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

R.E. Sohl I’m fortunate in that I don’t get writer’s block versa often, or at least not very severe cases of it. I won’t even begin a project in earnest unless I have a very detailed plot outline with an ending that tells me what I should be writing on a chapter by chapter basis. So I just refer to my outline a lot an plow through it. If I’m not totally happy with how I got my characters from point A to point B in a story, I just tell myself that I can go back and revise it later if I have a better idea of how to do it. The important thing is to keep moving forward and don’t lose your momentum so you stay motivated to complete the work. Sometimes I’ll sleep on it too, or take a brief break to think things through.
