Hi Jodi, I think you're wonderful for answering the questions of your readers. I adore your books. They are such a wonderful escape for me. I'm in the process of re-reading the whole series (up to #5 so far). I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I was wondering: what's up with America? The borders are closed. What happened? Any hints? Thanks, Mandy (from New Zealand)

Hi Mandy. Thanks for this. When I first started writing, I wanted to make it clear to the reader that this wasn't quite the world we'd known so I sat down and thought about the most unlikely things to happen. One - Britain leaving Europe and two - America closing its borders. I have been giving it some thought recently and possibly trying to weave it into a story, but we're all living in such precarious times at the moment that I'm unwilling to try to pin something down. Perhaps one day. Take care, Jodi.

Can't think of a way to word this so it's not a spoiler.
In the Battersea Chronicles the end of the story rests on a point of law in the constitutional monarchy - that of a member of the Royal Family declaring the government unfit for purpose. I know a little about constitutional monarchy but not nearly enough to know - is that legally possible? Or are have you stretched things in your alternate universe?
