Maryam Salman
Maryam Salman asked:

Why is one of the golden retrievers named Fatima? It is a Muslim name and was actually the name of a very sacred and noblewoman in Islam. She was the daughter of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H). And according to Islamic values naming a dog after the daughter Prophet (PBUH) is very disrespectful and kind of offensive.

tabasum ☘ Yes I was also extremely offended. It's highly disrespectful. A minutes search on internet would have let her know the significance of the name Fatima. I will never read any of the her work in future howsoever good that may be.
fatima luniaccc yesss i totallyy agreee with uu
Fawn Unlimited I think it was intentionally offensive, to show how the family is so oblivious, or actually not oblivious but feel above it in some way. It’s interesting that we learn the dogs names after the discussion around should they own an island.
Annika excuse me, i personally just think a name doesnt belong to a religion. name a kid, pet or whatever after whatever kind of name u want to. u cant just claim a name. no religion can. and in the end i believe e. lockhart picked this name just because she thought it was a god damn nice name and didnt think much about it. like common
Rhona Duncan No idea if this was Lockhart's plan - but Prince Philip (the other dog) was deified by an island tribe near New Guinea in the 1950s. But my guess is that not much thought was put into the names.
