Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

F. Kennerly Clay One of my brothers and my sister and I had talked for some time about putting a book together based on letters we had received from our father over the years--sometimes wise and witty, sometimes completely exposing the downward spiral of acute alcoholism. Ultimately, a larger story needed to be told and in the process I discovered my own story, one that had never been fully fleshed out until I discovered a treasure trove of my father's letters going all the way back to the 60s.
