I've just finished reading attachments (I loved it), and really wanted to know how you came up the plot for the book and what's your process for creating book plots, is it stories you've heard or are they almost always make up?

Rainbow Rowell Thank you! I wrote Attachments while I was working at a newspaper with a very restrictive internet and email policy. My stories often start with the seed of something real -- either something I've experienced or heard about -- and then I spin off into fiction, imagining what could happen in that scenario. Usually my spinning involves a love story.
