Rhys, excellent answer, but I believe, not to her point. You told Mariia when you noticed you were up there with the big ones - and that you always thought you should write. But she was asking for when the lightning struck you. How you came up with your first ever published piece, how you discovered that anybody WOULD publish anything you wrote?
Rhys Bowen
I've been published my whole life, actually. My first play for the BBC when I was 22. Then children's books, YA, and finally mysteries, historical novels. The idea for my first mystery novel came when I was telling a friend about my childhood experiences in Wales, with older relatives. She said, "This is such good stuff. Did you ever put it in a book?" And the idea was born.

Rhys Bowen:
Is it appropriate for a Molly Murphy Mysteries fan to come to one of your upcoming book signings for Love and Death Among the Cheetas? I am almost done with the Molly Murphy series & plan to start the Royal Spyness series before this event, but I seriously doubt I'll love it nearly as much as Molly & would love to bring Murphy's Law to be signed.

I was wondering if you have any story ideas such as characters, items, or places that you've thrown out or given up on that I can use for one of my stories? The story that I'm thinking of is about an island where all story bits end up if they are thrown out or given up on. I've asked other authors so I can get a variety and some truth to the story. It's fine if you don't want to share any. Thanks. ~Hannah

How did you go about finding people to review your first novel when it was published? At the age of 80, I'm about to publish my first novel and would like to have not only those who know me but some who will be more objective to review it. This is all new to me and I'm learning as I go. Thanks for your time.
