I’m only 50 pages in but find the writing quite stilted. I’m constantly having to reread. The reviews are excellent and the synopsis drew me to this book but am struggling with it. Does the writing improve?

Maybe you'll get used to it as you go but I did not. I swear I never understood the setting either. So many times I had to force myself to remember it's west coast, not east. The reveal wasn't worth it for me. I kept on because it was so highly rated.(less)
