Jo Sparks
Jo Sparks asked Rainbow Rowell:

If you could rewrite any of your pieces, novels or short stories -- basically anything you've ever written, would you? And if you did, would you change the content or just rewrite it to experience it again?

Rainbow Rowell There are lines in all of my books that I would change: Jokes that didn't land. References that didn't age well. Lines that were confusing or distracting. Clumsy writing. Factual errors!

You can't ever really know how language will land with readers. And sometimes a line will lead to so many questions and misunderstandings... It's frustrating.

But I don't think I'd ever rewrite -- or even revise -- an entire book. Each of them is very much Of The Moment, for me. A story I needed to tell and then did.

And I really do work hard on them and work carefully -- so that I can be mostly satisfied with them having a life outside of me.
