I love the character of Nikys, and I'd be happy to read of her again in whatever way Lois wants to do it. Characters do change, if the fiction is any good. I've liked some of Lois' books better than others, but they're all good. I admire her choice of a middle-aged woman as adventuring protagonist in Paladin of Souls. Could her weaving could be part of a story line for Nikys? I'm sure Lois has plenty of ideas already.

Well, ideas come as they come for me, trailing in as single spies not battalions. I just finished the next Penric tale yesterday -- see my April 16th blog post for details -- so there won't be anything else started for a while. I'm looking forward to a summer off, with some outdoors time...

Mary, one of our children's librarians, told me that she checked in a summer reading finisher yesterday named Ellie Quinn. Mary asked her if she knew she was named after a science fiction character, and her mother said “Really?” and then proceeded to tell Mary the little sister’s name – Cordelia! Mary was rooting for the third sister to be named Elena, but she turned out to be Emma.
