Sarosh Because iron age mind sets are intolerant of fictional writing and free thought/speech.
Chris Because of religious bigotry and intolerance in many parts of the world.
Hamidur Because of the religion of peace.
Austin One of the characters has visions of the prophet Muhammad which depict him in a way that is contrary to the Koran. The title of the book refers to a debatable part of the history of early Islam which stipulates that part of the recitation of the Koran was altered.
یاسین freedom of speech doesnt mean you can insult all thoughts and religions that you dont like,it was banned because it wasnt just a novel,it was a clear insult to a religion with more than 1 bilhion followers all over the world
all believes and religions all over the world have the right to be respected at least
محمدرضا Because this book contains incorrect statements about the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the Islam.
BobwithaB I'm having trouble understanding the book.
Forked Radish Al-Lat (Alnitak), Al-'Uzza (Alnilam), and Manat (Mintaka); the three stars in the Belt of Orion, believed to be goddesses by the pagan Arabs, are named by Muhammad in surah, 53: 19-20:
"Have ye thought upon Al-Lat and Al-'Uzza
And Manat, the third, the other?" (Pickthall)
Then Muhammad allegedly said:
"These are the exalted gharāniq*, whose intercession is hoped for." (unattested)
Which has subsequently be redacted by Muslim scholars as apocryphal or allegedly satanic... But I believe that Muhammad was actually ridiculing the pagan Arabs for their beliefs and the line should be re-inserted in the Qur'an. However, "these" should be italicized and the period replaced with a question mark to make the statement clearly satirical and rhetorical viz. These are the exalted gharāniq, whose intercession is hoped for?
*cranes, high flying birds, or flying goddesses
Bhabani Mishra Forget the book, even the verses by the prophet are called Satanic by Muslims and banned. These verses by the prophet tells about being tolerant to the pagan arabs and allow polytheism and idolatry. The cancel culture gang of those time cancelled these verses of the prophet.
