Where did the idea for the Maiden Lane series come from? It is a delicious series -- just curious :)

Elizabeth Hoyt Hi Teia, I got the idea for Maiden Lane slowly over several years so it's hard to pin down to one thing. I wanted to write an extended series with reoccurring characters. I found out about the gin problem in early Georgian England, which gave me a setting. Then I started thinking about masked avengers like the Scarlet Pimpernel and things took off. ;-)

Will she become a femme fatale and then the Duke-of-Whatever (I dunno his title sorry) going to know the secret? Will there be fighting techniques and stuff? And will Val play a part on this?
