Arianna Fraser
Arianna Fraser asked Devika Fernando:

Writing a series is fun, especially when you're working with a theme you love. But you somehow manage to keep these follow-up stories from just being derivative. How do you structure your stories to keep the characters and the challenges fresh each time?

Devika Fernando Goodness, what an interesting question! I usually have at least a vague idea of what each book in the series should be about. Then I take notes on the character arcs that would make sense and on how each of those protagonists or settings or themes could be interconnected. But I'm not a total plotter.
