Hello Ross, Just an FYI. Goodreads.com finally came through and gave me author status. Is it possible I could have shamed them into it? The world may never know. Take care, Michael

Hi again, Michael!
So sorry for not having noticed these questions a lot sooner. First of all, congratulations on obtaining author status here on Goodreads! Now, this makes you and I rivals...Just kidding!
In all honesty though, sometimes Goodreads likes to make sure its authors are truly on the up-and-up and not spammers or scammers or book-thieves/pirates posing as authors, be they famous or not. I had to re-submit my application once more after initially submitting it, because the administrators had not accepted it the first time around.
And now since you've established yourself as an author, get cracking! You have a lot more work to do, such as: Writing, copyrighting, and publishing books, having them listed on your new, shiny Author Profile (The Goodreads Librarians' Group can help you out here), posting blogs, if this is your thing, adding photos and videos, making friends and followers, and whenever you have the money to do so, hosting your very first Goodreads Giveaway!! Good luck! And may the odds be ever in your favor...XD!

Ross Eberle:
This is not really a question about your books. As a new author, I am curious how long it takes goodreads.com to recognize me as such. They claim it takes two business days. It has been four or five, and I have heard nothing. Is there a published or unpublished rule that if you sell your own books and do not go through Amazon or Barnes and Noble then you're not worthy? -- Loved the post on wearing multiple hats.

Your author page on Wikipedia says you're related to Ray Eberle. Is that true?? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ross_Eberle
