Am i the only person who fails to understand why this book is considered a classic, to me it was boring and tedious and the plot failed to engross me as many other books have?

Because if you get it, you get it- and you know from the first line, the very first time you read it, that no other book in the world will ever matter even half as much. And it doesn't matter how many people in the world don't get it, because they are the people this book is about. And it's not for them, it's for us- us who have to put up with the people who don't get it. Day in and day out. We have to live in the world of the people who don't get it, and this is why we need this book. To stop ourselves from going insane.(less)
