Goodreads asked Jeremy McLean:

How do you get inspired to write?

Jeremy McLean I'm inspired to write daily by the desire to have my story told, and in a greater way by my fans. They keep me motivated to give them a good story that hopefully will inspire them in one way or another.

I was inspired to start writing overall by two authors: D.J. MacHale, author of the Pendragon Series, and Eiichiro Oda, author of the manga One Piece.

Both of these series create such vivid worlds you want to visit yourself that are full of endless possibilities, colourful characters, and meaningful twists. My hope is that I can create worlds that do the same for other aspiring authors.

On another note, One Piece is about pirates, and it gave me a new appreciation for pirates in general. I have a few small references to One Piece in my novel, ones which only fans of the manga would be able to catch.
