How long did it take your first book to be published?

P.C. Cast I was introduced to the owner of a small, regional publishing house before I finished my first sellable manuscript. He asked to read the manuscript and as soon as I finished it I sent it to him. He bought it for a whopping $250 advance. That was my first published book.
