Walk Two Moons, by Sharon …moreYes, I definitely agree with A Wrinkle in Time and other Madeleine L' Engle books, as well as the His Dark Material series. Walk Two Moons, by Sharon Creech is very similar is plot and ambience and is one of my favorite novels. And, although I was not so fond of these and didn't bother to finish the series, The Series of Unfortunate Events might be a good choice for its darker, mysterious qualities. Oh! also, Terry Pratchett's Wee Free Men series (Wee Free Men, A Hat Full of Sky, Wintersmith, and I Shall Wear Midnight) are the perfect combination of sic-fi, mystery, and magic. (less)
