I liked the movie, should I read the book? I heard it's darker and less romantic. Is this true?

The book is just as romantic in my opinion but the romance doesn't start until later on in the book's …moreI personally like both; the book and the movie. The book is just as romantic in my opinion but the romance doesn't start until later on in the book's storyline because Tristran doesn't meet Yvaine right away in the novel like he does in the movie with the candle. We do get more details on his father's relationship with Una, though, so there's that. As far darker, yeah it's a little dark, but the movie wasn't feather-light either. (less)
