When you published your first novel how did you find people who weren't related to you or your friends to review it? I'm about to publish my first novel at the age of 80 and would like to find a few people to review it that might be more objective than those close to me.

Charlaine Harris That was forty years ago, Gayle, so it may not be relevant. My publisher, Houghton Mifflin, had a relationship with many reviewers. HM sent out galleys, like publishers do now. Of course, since I was a new writer, "Sweet and Deadly" didn't get many reviews. Word of mouth is the best selling tool, and it took me a while to build up a readership.
