Hi Alka, I work in a library in Eastern Oregon and I want to know of some books that you recommend and books that inspire you? I read The Henna Artist and I DEVOURED it. LOVED IT! Thank you for creating it into the world. I cannot wait to read The Secret Keeper of Jaipur.

If your library does virtual events, why not invite me to talk about that book and its sequel, THE SECRET KEEPER OF JAIPUR (which comes out June 22)? There are so many books that have inspired me. Here are just a few: The Color Purple, Jane Eyre, All the Things We Cannot See, The Blood of Flowers, Pachinko, A Fine Balance, East of Eden, Stories of Rabindranath Tagore, The Accidental Tourist, The Householder, Amrita, Nectar in a Sieve. The Henna Artist circulated well in our library and we also had take and make henna tattoo kits and it was a success. We love Alka and would love to have a perfume making class to promote the sequel. Is Alka available to do a zoom author visit to make this event a highlight to our year?

Hi!! I totally loved the Henna Artist a little while ago (the characters depth and relationships were the best part!!). The book made me really curious about some of the foods you wrote about, so the recipes at the back made everything better!!
