A Goodreads user asked Kat Cho:

How do you deal with deadlines? My deadline is March 22nd and I'm only halfway through my book, what should I do?

Kat Cho So, if I think I can make a deadline, but I just need to get my head on straight and actually write, then I make myself a schedule. I use different methods, like online word count trackers (pacemaker.press is great). i also use accountability buddies so I have people who keep me accountable to my writing goals. Forest is a great app to focus yourself and you can use it with friends so you're all focusing and working together. But if I think I just can't make a deadline, then I ask for an extension. 9 times out of 10 your editor will say yes, and honestly, these days, needing an extension is completely understandable! Good luck with your writing and your deadline!
