Hi Rachel! I'm a new fan. First, I read The Fifth Avenue Story Society - and it's my new favorite book! I'm reading The Writing Desk now and am loving it. I'm an aspiring novelist - got one in the works. So, I would love to know if the first book you wrote was ever published. Did you write the first one and let it sit for a while? Sorry for my delayed answer! Congrats on writing your own book. And I'm so glad you loved Fifth Avenue!
My first book was a closet book. However I used parts of it for Love Starts With Elle.
Everyone's writing journey is different. The best thing is to get connected with the writing community, keep learning and keep writing.
I recommend novel.academy as a great way to learn. There are so many tools there. Also get "The Story Equation" by Susan May Warren.

I'm an aspiring writer, but I'm dealing with two things: I get discouraged every single day because 96% of manuscripts are rejected, and I haven't had an idea for years, literally. There's too many people wanting to be writers, and knowing there's so much competition just kills me a little every day. When I get motivated, immediatly something appears about the industry that kills it. Any tips on how to deal with this?
